- For several years PGNiG and ORLEN Upstream have been conducting joint exploration and production works. We intensify extraction in Wielkopolska, applying modern methods which allow increasing production. Here for the first time in this part of Poland we successfully used the horizontal drilling technology in sandstone rocks. Thanks to cooperation with the proven partner we raise the possibility of extracting natural gas in Poland, which has a positive influence on the country’s energy security - said Piotr Woźniak, President of PGNiG SA.

- The area of the Płotki project is considered as most perspective in Poland in terms of presence of hydrocarbon reservoirs in the Rotliegend formations. I hope that works in the Chwalęcin-1K well will bring a positive result and soon we will be able to announce another joint exploratory success - said Janusz Radomski, President of the Management Board, Chief Executive Officer - ORLEN Upstream.

PGNiG and ORLEN Upstream also cooperate in Wielkopolska within the Sieraków project. It comprises 2 licenses within which preparatory works on development of crude oil and natural gas deposits are pending now.
