The company has recently started drilling Pasieki-OU1 well of the planned length of 2600 m, which is located within the area of the Karpaty project. Besides drilling works, during last several months, the company acquired the seismic dataand performed a geochemical analysis in that region.

On July 27th, drilling works in the Pasieki-OU1 well located in the area of the Karpaty project within the border of Małopolska and Podkarpacie regions were started. The well is located on license Blok 435 (30/2013/Ł) in Jasło County, in the central part of Outer Carpathians. Total depth of the well is planned for 2600 m, and drilling works will take approximately 50 days. The goal of the works is to confirm the presence of hydrocarbon accumulations in Krosno Beds.

In the second half of 2016, within the area of Karpaty project, a geochemical analysis called “Pola OU” was made, and at the beginning of 2017, “Korzenna 2D” seismic acquisition was carried out. Based on historical logs and the recently acquired geological data, optimal location for drilling works was chosen.

Karpaty project is one of the eight projects in Poland that ORLEN Upstream is involved in. The area covered by this project comprises three licenses located within the following blocks: 433 and 434, 435, and Skołyszyn license.
