Once again PKN ORLEN has successfully passed the review by experts who select listed companies for the prestigious RESPECT Index. The Company maintained its position in the Index, which means that for another consecutive year it has met the exacting criteria concerning primarily the manner of corporate management.
The RESPECT Index includes companies which comply with corporate governance rules as well as observe the principles of sustainable development and corporate social responsibility. The project strongly emphasises a company's attractiveness to investors, which depends on a number of factors including the quality of reporting, investor relations and corporate governance.
"Since the index launch, PKN ORLEN's presence in this prestigious group has been of great importance not only to the Company but also to its investors. Our efforts are appreciated by independent experts, which proves that we pursue best-of-class policy of building stakeholder relations. In such uncertain times it is a capital the value of which cannot be overestimated," said Jacek Krawiec, PKN ORLEN's CEO.
The RESPECT Index was introduced in November 2009 to include companies which have successfully passed the review process by the Project Partners, i.e. the Warsaw Stock Exchange, Deloitte Polska and the Polish Association of Listed Companies. The composition of the Index may change. The first edition of the RESPECT Index launched in Central and Eastern Europe included 16 companies. Currently, this number has grown to 22. The list of index members is updated every six months.
PKN ORLEN's presence in the RESPECT Index once again proves that Company's efforts are highly appreciated.
