(…) The Americans decided that the exploitation of the shale is not dangerous to the environment but the companies which carry out work should disclose what substances they use upon extraction. The report with recommendations of the advisory committee, specially appointed upon the request of President Barack Obama, which for three months examined the impact of the shale gas extraction on the environment and listened to various arguments, prepared the preliminary report for the US Secretary of Energy. In the document the committee indeed included a list of recommendations for the companies engaged in extraction but it did not negate the work carried out. Practically, the advisors dismissed the charges made by the environmentalists that the method of the shale gas extraction was dangerous and might cause contamination of potable water. (…)
