Corporate culture

In our work, we act in line with the ORLEN Group values, which are: Responsibility, Development, People, Energy and Reliability. We want to share them with our stakeholders, which is why we are happy to get involved in voluntary work, that allow us to incorporate these values in our lives:

  • we act responsibly by providing help to people in need and the socially excluded;
  • we do not forget about development of both the people we help, and our volunteers;
  • people are most important to us: we get involved in activities for children, senior citizens, local communities, animals and the natural environment;
  • we are never short of energy: we help by promoting culture, sports, education, and environmental protection;
  • we want to be reliable – so that people can always count on us.

As part of our charity activities in May 2016, ORLEN Upstream employees renovated a children’s playground and equipped the Community Childcare Centres in Szczypiorno and Kosewo with home appliances. We encourage you to watch the effects of our work in the following video:

Furthermore, every year we make Christmas wishes come true for children who are ill or in need. We co-finance initiatives to increase the safety and quality of life of local communities in our licence areas.

ORLEN Upstream Canada, is also actively involved in charity actions. In order to help the needy, our Canadian team has struck up cooperation with United Way Calgary, a charity organisation. They have carried out numerous activities for the benefit of the needy, including redecorating the Children’s Cottage Society building for homeless families with children, and preparing lunch sets for Drop Inn Centre. ORLEN Upstream Canada employees’ 2-week-long involvement in the project resulted in CAD 16,000 being raised. The joint charity campaign by ORLEN Upstream Canada and United Way of Calgary received the “Welcome to United Way” award during the United Way’s Spirits of Gold Gala.

ORLEN Olympics

Every year, ORLEN Upstream and ORLEN Upstream Canada take part in ORLEN Olympics – a sports competition organised for the ORLEN Group employees. So far, our team competed in beach volleyball, indoor volleyball, football (soccer), table tennis, carting, cycling and sailing. The competitions are a great opportunity for all the employees of the Group to participate in sports rivalry, promote an active lifestyle, or just get together and cheer for their team.

Extreme runs

Running, especially in its most extreme forms, is a true passion of several of our employees. They pursue it by participating in an extreme obstacle races. Running individually or in teams, they successfully deal with mud, sweat, and unexpected challenges on the way, and they infect their ORLEN Upstream colleagues with their passion for running.

Football Section

ORLEN Upstream has its football (soccer) section. Its members meet every week for their training, and play as part of the Legia Biznes Cup. Their regular matches have brought about good results: during one of the editions of the upstream industry football tournament, the OPPPW PetroCup, the ORLEN Upstream team won the ‘Best Upstream Football Team’ title. We encourage you to watch the videos about our footballers:

Sailing Section

The salty dogs in our sailing section fear no gale! At ORLEN Upstream, we give our employees the chance to test their strengths not just on land but also on the water. Anyone can join the sailing section, irrespective of their skill level and experience. The participants get a chance to go through the theoretical course for a yacht sailing licence, and gain practical skills at sailing classes and regattas on the Zegrzyński Reservoir.

Volleyball Section

Volleyball gives good vibes to many of us. Any ORLEN Upstream employee can take up volleyball training organised by PKN ORLEN. Professional coaches supervise the players, and help them polish their playing technique and tactics.
